EIRA is a pioneering initiative that transforms underutilized spaces—from urban rooftops to other environments with regeneration potential—into habitable ecosystems that generate social, environmental, and economic value.
ABOUT US
Born out of acceleration programs at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and developed over years of applied research, Eira is an urban innovation platform that merges finance, urban planning, architecture and academia.
WE ARE A TEAM OF RESEARCHERS AND PROFESSIONALS WHO CONNECT THEORY AND PRACTICE.
Our collective experience spans the MIT Department of Urban Studies and Planning; training and research in artificial intelligence linked to MIT and the NSF–Simons CosmicAI Institute; and design practice from the UT Austin School of Architecture. In the business, financial, and legal spheres, the team has training from leading institutions such as ESADE, Georgetown University, and IE Business School, along with experience in regulatory compliance, urban and building law, contracting, data protection, and investment vehicle structuring. This unique combination allows us to link science, design, regulatory certainty, and scalable business models.
We were born from a simple but urgent observation: while cities face housing crises and climate emergencies, thousands of square meters remain empty above our heads. Our commitments:
Regenerate existing spaces without consuming more land
Build with a positive climate balance
Design for collective value
Beyond design, we have a solid scientific and academic foundation that makes our studies and tools concrete and verifiable—not just marketing promises. In a context with a lot of noise about AI and sustainability, EIRA relies on rigorous and applied research to offer real solutions.
EIRA CONNECTS THIS OPPORTUNITY WITH THE MOST URGENT URBAN NEEDS.
